1. NYC's Bluecore, a marketing automation startup, has raised $50 million in a Series D funding. Georgian Partners led the round and was joined by FirstMark and Norwest. Bluecore's platform, which is used by companies such as CVS and Perry Ellis, analyzes data from email, social media and site activity to predict what customers might want to buy. 2. Wired takes a look at how employees of Brooklyn's Kickstarter formed a union. According to Wired, the unionization effort "wasn't so much about pay issues, but to give workers more say over what they produce." (Wired)

3. NYC's Spruce, an online real estate transaction platform, has raised $29 million in a Series B funding. The round was led by Scale Venture Partners, with participation from Zigg Capital and Bessemer Venture Partners. Spruce's platform empowers mortgage companies to provide a digital-first closing experience to home buyers by managing the title and closing process online. (www.spruce.co) (Real Estate Weekly)

4. NYC's FireHydrant, a disaster management platform for companies, has raised $8 million in a Series A funding. Menlo Ventures and Work-Bench were the investors. FireHydrant's platform is a digital playbook for companies' disaster recovery plans. (www.firehydrant.io) (TechCrunch)

5. NYC's BetterCloud, an SaaS management platform, has raised $75 million in a Series F funding. NYC's Warburg Pincus led the round with participation from Bain Capital Ventures, Accel, NYC's Greycroft Partners, Flybridge Capital Partners, New Amsterdam Growth Capital and e.ventures. BetterCloud's platform is a management layer that sits on top of applications such as G Suite, Office 365, Dropbox, Salesforce and Zendesk. (www.bettercloud.com) (TechCrunch)

6. NYC's Artivest, an alternative investment platform, has been acquired by NYC's iCapital Network, a platform for alternative investment managers backed by Goldman Sachs. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Artivest had previously raised a total of $17 million from investors including FinTech Collective, RRE Ventures, Signatures Capital, Anthemis Group, KKR, Level Ventures, Aquiline Capital Partners, Genstar Capital, Founders Fund, Thiel Capital and 8VC. 7. NYC's Rent the Runway is seeking to raise at least $25 million in a funding round to be led by mutual fund giant T. Rowe Price. The financing would value Rent the Runway at $750 million as compared to the $1 billion valuation for the company's last round in March 2019. (www.renttherunway.com) (Bloomberg)

8. Stamford's Source Defense, a web security platform, has raised $10.5 million in a Series A+ funding. Capital One Ventures led the round, and was joined by IVP, Allegis Cyber, Global Brain and NightDragon.
